BACKYARD POULTRY SHOW RULES:
The ComaI-County Fair Association sponsors a show for persons who like to raise backyard chickens. The birds do not have to be pure bred, but must be in good condition and be free of disease and pests: The birds do not
have to be entered before the show, but they must have a current Pullorum-Typhoid (P/T) test.
1. A coop fee of $1 will be charged per bird and must be paid prior to cooping your bird. 2. No entry fee will be refunded for any reason.
3. Entries will be accepted at the fairgrounds between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22nd, 2004. 4. Birds without a P/T test, birds that show obvious disease or birds that have
parasites will not be accepted. The decision of the Superintendent will be final. 5. Birds will be tested free of charge at the fairgrounds from 3 to 6 p.m. on
Wednesday, September 22nd. This test is only for birds that will be entered in the show. If you wish to get your birds tested early, contact:
J.C. Essler @ (512) 557-0355. No entries will be allowed in the show barn until testing has been completed. 6. If you wish to show turkeys, they must be tested at least 30 days prior to the show.
Turkeys require a blood test that must be sent to a lab for analysis. This service is free though J.C. Essler and Texas A&M. 7. All entries must be removed from the fairgrounds between 5 and 7 p.m. on Sunday,

Champion Large Fowl Trophy, Tri-Color, $5 Champion Bantam Fowl Trophy, Tri-Color, $5 First Place Cock, Cockerel, Hen and Pullet, $3 Second Place Cock, Cockerel, Hen and Pullet, $2
Third Place Cock, Cockerel, Hen and Pullet, $1 Cock is a male bird more than one year old. Cockerel is a male bird less than one year old. Hen is a female bird more than one year old.
Pullet is a female bird less than one year old.
PULLORUM-TYPHOID TESTING
Have your birds tested early! The Texas Pullorum and Fowl Typhoid Control Act of 1977 requires all poultry going on public exhibition to originate from Pullorum-
Typhoid clean flocks or hatcheries or to have a negative Pullorum-Typhoid test within 90 days prior to exhibition. In-state entries can satisfy the above requirements by one of the following:
1. Originate from a flock certified "U.S. Pullorum-Typhoid Clean by the National Poultry Improvement Plan"; or 2. Originate from a flock certified "Pullorum-Typhoid Clean" by the Texas
Pullorum Disease and Fowl Typhoid Control Program; or 3. A negative reaction to a Pullorum-Typhoid test conducted by an authorized testing agent within 90 days prior to the show.
Entries satisfying the requirements by methods 1, 2 or 3 must be accompanied by a NPIP Form #15 or a Texas Pullorum-Typhoid Control Form #02 or a certificate
